DailyMate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

DailyMate is a personal tasks, goals, and habits tracker. The app is local-first: your personal data and content (tasks, notes, check-ins) stay on your device and are not shared with third parties. The optional buddy/league features, if you enable them, exchange only anonymous, aggregated focus data with our backend — never your identity or your content. This policy explains what the app handles and why.

1. What we handle

DailyMate works with data you enter and data the device shares with your permission:

  • Tasks, goals, habits, rewards, check-in notes, and advice ratings — stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
  • Apple Watch / Apple Health readings: heart-rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate — read only with your consent through HealthKit and cached locally.
  • App settings (language, notification tone, morning / evening ping time, selected subscription plan) — kept in standard UserDefaults / SharedPreferences.

2. Where the data lives

Your tasks, goals, habits, notes, and check-ins live on your device only, and their contents are not sent to us or to any third party. iCloud backups (if enabled in your iOS settings) may include the local app data — that is governed by iOS, not by us. If you enable the buddy/league features, they run through our backend (Cloudflare) but transmit only anonymous, aggregated data — see the next section.

3. What we do NOT collect

  • No advertising SDKs or trackers (App Tracking Transparency: NSPrivacyTracking = false).
  • No analytics (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, etc.).
  • No access to contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location.
  • No name, email, or other personal identifiers — there is no sign-up or login.
  • The buddy/league features, when enabled, use an anonymous device identifier and a random handle. Only numbers (tasks done, focus minutes, streak), focus-block times, and your timezone are sent — never task titles, notes, or your identity. You can erase this data in Settings ("delete account").

4. Apple In-App Purchase

The DailyMate Premium subscription is processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles all payment data, not us. We receive only the subscription status (active / inactive / plan type) from Apple to unlock premium features — no name, address, card number, or Apple ID.

5. Notifications

DailyMate uses local notifications on iOS only (Pomodoro timer, morning / evening pings). We do not run push servers. The permission is requested explicitly during onboarding and can be turned off anytime in iOS Settings.

6. You share yourself

When you tap "Share my week", iOS opens the system share sheet. You choose where to send the text — Telegram, WhatsApp, X, Notes, Instagram Stories, or another app. We do not send anything on your behalf.

7. Age

DailyMate is intended for users aged 13 and older. We intentionally do not request sensitive health or identity details. HRV readings are informational, not medical.

8. Deleting your data

To delete your local data, uninstall the app — iOS destroys the app sandbox together with the database and the cache. If you used the buddy/league features, Settings has a "delete account" action that erases your anonymous data on our backend.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and ship the new version in a new app release. We will also highlight any material changes the first time you open the updated app.

10. Contact

Questions, feedback, deletion requests — please email madgeSmy@protonmail.com.
